L.S. College will be an autonomus body.
L.S. college affiliated to BRABU,this college is one of the oldest college in India.
An affiliated college has to follow the syllabus prescribed by the university and also all the norms & regulations etc. The admissions are decided centrally by the University. The exams too are conducted by the university. This means all the colleges affiliated to the same university will have same question papers and will be evaluated by same people with same criteria.
Now the college administration has decided to get the status of autonomus body .The HODs of all departments have given their consent over getting the autonomus body status of L.S. college. Bihar Vishvavidalaya has been provided a letter for NOC by college administration.
An autonomus college has several benefits :
Autonomous colleges are granted freedom and in some or all the matters. They can have their own syllabus, evaluation patterns etc.
It is not easy to get the status of an autonomous college, Currently, any affiliated college which has been accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation council of India (NAAC) for three times with a higher grade. This assessment is five yearly. The college can apply for autonomous status and U.G.C. may grant it autonomy.
Earlier the NAAC has given ‘A’ grade to L.S. College.and again assessment will be held in November.So the professors and staffs have been provided responsibility.
