About us :
Millat College, Darbhanga was established in 1957 and it was sponsored by “The Muslim Anjuman-e-Taleem, Darbhanga.” It was the first Muslim Minority College of Bihar after Independence. First,It was started in the campus of Shafi Muslim High School, Laheriasarai and later on it was shifted to its own buliding in 1962. Dr. S.A. Hafeez Salfi was the founder secretary and Janab Molvi Abdual Wadood was the founder president of this college and Prof. Abdus Salam was the first Principal of this college. It was converted into a constituent unit of L.N.Mithila University in Feb. 1976 with effect from 01.04.1975. The College aims at promoting and to foster and advance higher education among the people pf educationally backward area of Mithilanchal.
The College is imparting teaching from Inter to Degree (Honours) Level in almost all popular subject in the faculties of Science, Arts and Commerce. Admission is open to student of all communities without any discrimination of religion, cast, creed and sex . After completion of successful fifty year in 2007, the college has celebrated its golden Jubilee celebration in May 2008.
