BPSC 68th Exam 2022-23: Bihar Public Service Commission has changed the pattern of the 68th BPSC exam. The news was also coming continuously about this that the pattern would be changed. Now a notification in this regard was issued on Tuesday. There is a change in the pattern of both the preliminary and main examinations. Now there will be negative marking in PT. It has also been decided that one-fourth (0.25 marks) will be deducted for every wrong answer. There will be 150 questions of one mark each.
What is the change in the written main examination?
According to the changes made by the commission in the combined written main examination, the Hindi examination will be of 100 marks of which 30% marks have been made mandatory. Its marks will not be added to the merit determination. Apart from this, it is mandatory to bring the minimum marks fixed in the optional subject. Its marks will not be counted in merit.
Three hours time for all mains exam.
Bihar Public Service Commission has kept General Studies paper one and General Studies paper two of three hundred marks respectively. And this time a separate essay writing has been added. There will be 300 marks exam for this. Candidates will get three hours for all the papers of the main examination.
Separate essay writing has been added to BPSC 68th Exam
The Commission has kept General Studies Paper-I and General Studies Paper-II of three hundred marks respectively. This time a separate essay writing has been added. For this, there will be an examination of 300 marks. All the papers of the main examination will be of three hours duration. Students will have to pay special attention to essay writing. Its marks will be added to the merit. The optional subject (MCQ based) will be of 100 marks. In this, it will be mandatory to obtain 40 percent marks for general category students, 36.5 percent for backward classes, 34 percent for extremely backward classes and 32 marks for scheduled castes, tribes, women and differently-abled.
The examination will happen for 283 posts
BPSC Secretary Amarendra Kumar said that the application date for 68th PT has been extended from 20th to 30th December. So far 3 lakh applications have come. It is expected that one lakh more applications will come in 10 days. The exam will be for 283 posts. The evaluation method has been changed. A normalization method will be used in this.
BPSC 68th Exam 2022-23: Pattern
BPSC has released the updated 68th BPSC exam pattern 2022-23 on its official website. The BPSC Syllabus is set by the Bihar Public Service Commission.
The 68th BPSC Exam (Combined Competitive Exam) 2023 will be held in three stages:
- Prelims – 1 objective-type paper for 150 marks. As per the latest 68th BPSC Exam pattern 2022-23, Prelims will now have negative markings as well. For every correct answer, 1 mark will be given while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- Mains – 5 descriptive papers (1 qualifying + 4 merit ranking) for 1000 marks. Optional in 68th BPSC Mains exam 2022-23 will be objective and will be of 100 marks.
- Interview – 120 marks
