There are only three B.Ed Colleges are affiliated to Patna University :

The college has been accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade for three consecutive cycles with CGPA 3.51/4 in 2010 and CGPA 3.58/4 in 2015. The college also has been accorded as ‘College with Potential for Excellence (CPE)’ status from UGC in three phases in 2004, 2010 and 2015.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has conferred Autonomous status to Patna Women’s College in January, 2018 which was further notified by the Parent University (Patna University) in July, 2018.
Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and Semester System have been introduced in July 2018. This is the only college in the state to have taken this initiative for UG courses.

Patna Training College, Bankipore, Patna, Bihar800004 Patna University
The college was primarily established to provide bachelor degree in teacher training to graduates for secondary school teaching but the course of Bachelor of Training (B.T.) examinations could be started till 1915-16. This was perhaps due to the controversy in England as to what type of training should be introduced in India. It controversy persisted for many years.
Before that the college provided L.T. (Licentiate of Training) degree. On the 1st October, 1917, the Patna Training College was affiliated to the Patna University under section II of the Patna University Act 1917. Before that the college was affiliated to Calcutta University. With the affiliation to Patna University B.T. programme was replaced with B.Ed. programme.
In 1926, L.T. programme was abolished and one year course, Diploma in Education (Dip in ED) was started for preparing teachers for primary and middle schools. The duration of B.Ed. programme was extended from one academic to two academic year.
In 1935, the Patna Training College started one year Master of Education (M.Ed.) programme for postgraduate teaching in Education. The college has the distinction of being the first college in the country to start postgraduate teaching in education.

Womens’ Training College, North Gandhi Maidan, Patna, Bihar-800001
The college was established in the hostel of Bankipore Girl`s High School, Patna as a temporary arrangement and government sanctioned appropriate money for having a suitable campus for the college. Soon after all the government colleges in Patna and few private colleges were transferred to Patna university as such Patna women`s Training college being a government college, was also transferred to Patna university.
In the year 1976, the college was shifted from Bankipore girl’s high school to Department of Education, Dariapur. Around that time classes were being conducted in two sessions in the single room. About two years later, the college was shifted to Gandhi Maidan besides Magadh Mahila College, Patna.
